Attila Hartung

Film Director
Attila Hartung is a Hungarian film director. His first feature film, FOMO, was made within the framework of the Incubator Program and was presented at several international festivals. He is currently working on his second feature film. He graduated from the Directing program at the University of Theatre and Film Arts, and during his career he has made trailers for video games as well as commercials and public service films.

Genovéva Petrovits

Producer
Genovéva Petrovits is a producer who, in recent years, has made films in a wide range of genres with her creative partners. Her latest work, Hedgehog Hunt, directed by Mihály Schwechtje, opened this February’s Hungarian Film Week, with her own children appearing in important roles. This August, Renátó Olasz’s Every Star will premiere at the Sarajevo International Film Festival.

Abigél Szőke

Actress
Since my youth, I have been fascinated by films. Whenever I could, I searched for the classics on my laptop and enjoyed the French New Wave, Hungarian cinema of the 2000s and American blockbusters all at once. I eventually approached film through acting: by now, I have appeared in several Hungarian feature films, TV series and international productions.

KIDS AND YOUTH ANIMATION JURY

Luca Tóth

Animation Director
Luca Tóth is an award-winning animation director and illustrator, born in 1989. She studied animation at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, then continued her studies in London, earning her master’s degree from the Royal College of Art. Her graduation film, The Age of Curious, won the Special Jury Prize at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. After her studies and work in the United Kingdom, Luca returned to Budapest, where she made her first independent short animated film, Superbia. The film premiered in the Critics’ Week section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival and screened at more than 80 international festivals. Her latest independent short film, Mr. Mare, premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2019.

Dániel Huszár

Producer, designer, animator
He graduated from the Animation program at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) and has been teaching there since 2013, focusing primarily on stop-motion animation. In addition to teaching, in 2012 he founded the Krakout Film animation studio, where he participates in a wide variety of projects—sometimes as a producer, other times as a designer or animator.

Anna Lívia Tőkés

Animation Director
Anna Tőkés is an animation director. She completed her studies in the Animation program at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, earning the Rector’s Special Award for her master’s degree. Her graduation film, The Last Throw, premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival and went on to compete at several top-tier festivals, including the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. In addition to directing short films, she works as a freelance animation production designer and animator. Her main artistic interest lies in works that empathetically portray human relationships and emotions.

YOUTH STUDENT FILMS JURY

Károly Ascher

Teacher, filmmaker
Károly Ascher is the coordinator of the Cinemira Video Competition and Student Film Competition, and a member of the festival’s visual communications team. He is also an instructor at the Cinemira Children’s Film Academy. Károly is a film director who works in casting for feature films and short films.

György Somogyi

Screenwriter
György Somogyi is a screenwriter and an instructor at the Cinemira Children's Film Academy. He is credited with numerous award-winning TV films, short films, and series. He also writes comic books, including the popular Kittenberger series, which has twice won the Comic of the Year award.

Ádám Kroó

actor
Ádám Kroó is an actor who has been teaching acting to children and young people for over 15 years. He began his studies in the drama department of the Szabó Ervin Secondary School, and between the ages of 16 and 18 was a member of what was then perhaps the most prestigious children’s theatre in Hungary, the Harlequin Theatre. He graduated in 2005 from the Acting program at the University of Arts of Târgu Mureș, where he had the opportunity to work with prominent figures of Transylvanian theatre and gain insight into Romanian theatrical culture. According to him, this duality has remained a defining element of his artistic vision ever since. From 2006, for four seasons, he led the Nézőpont Theatre in Székelyudvarhely. In 2022, he founded the Oberon Academy, which offers comprehensive theatre training for children aged 8–14, with a special emphasis on personal development, self-expression, and the conscious mastery of stage presence. His primary goal is to allow children to experience genuine commitment to the magical world of theatre.

CRITICS’ CHOICE AWARD

Dorka Gyárfás

Journalist
Dorka Gyárfás graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest with a degree in television directing and presenting, where she studied film history and criticism under György Báron. From 2002 to 2017, she was a regular contributor to the Origo Filmklub column, while also creating film programs for Duna Television (Duna Mozi) and Rádiocafé (Laterna Magica). From 2017 to 2023, she worked as an editor and journalist for WMN magazine. Over the past two years, she has been publishing her film writings on her own blog, Dorka’s Substack, and since January 2025 she has been the culture editor at Elle magazine.

Janka Pozsonyi

Journalist, editor, podcast host
Since 2015, Janka has been a journalist, editor and podcast host at Filmhu. Her articles have also been published in Filmvilág magazine. She earned her degree in Film Theory and Film History at ELTE, and for years she worked with the team behind Daazo organizing Friss Hús International Short Film Festival. She regularly takes part in organizing domestic and international film festivals, events and screenings in Budapest.

Zsolt Gyenge

Film critic, editor, university lecturer
Zsolt Gyenge is a film critic and film theorist, lecturer at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and an admirer of groundbreaking films and rule-breaking filmmakers. As a freelance critic, his writings are primarily published in Filmvilág, Revizor, Élet és Irodalom and Filmtett. He is an editor of the scientific journal Disegno, and his theoretical texts have appeared in both Hungarian and international academic journals and essay collections.
