Jerzy Moszkowicz

Director of International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino!
Trained as a theatre expert at the university in Poznań. Theatre and television director. Manager of culture. Jury member at a number of film festivals for young audiences worldwide. Director of the Children’s Art Centre in Poznań. This unique institution undertakes and promotes valuable artistic activities for young audiences and modern methods of cultural education of children and young people. Director of Ale Kino! International Young Audience Film Festival, the most important Polish film festival for young audiences, with the main task being the promotion of valuable and non-commercial film productions from all over the world. In 2009 and 2012 the Festival was awarded the Prize of the Polish Film Institute. In 2011 the Festival received “Civi Europaeo Praemium”, an award of The European Parliament. Jerzy Moszkowicz served as president of the board of the International Centre of Films for Children and Young People CIFEJ and board’s vice-president of the European Children’s Film Association ECFA. Expert for the Polish Film Institute, awarded Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.

Géza M. Tóth

Animation Director
Oscar nominated Hungarian filmmaker. Founder and leader of KEDD Animation Studio, university professor and the rector of University of Theater and Film Arts, Budapest. He is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He is a multifarious artist, works in a huge palette of the arts. He made theatrical production, animations for kids (Berry and Dolly season 1-3) and educational films. He also made television commercials, series (Modern folk tales), animation inserts and lots of illustrations in children’s book. As a filmmaker he made several successful and unique short films (Maestro, Ergo, Mama, Yes, Icar, The Pied Piper) which were in competition in the most prestigious film festivals, such as Icar (1996) at Berlin International Film Festival, or the Pied Piper (1992) which was in competition for Annecy Film Festival’s Cristal prize. His works were nominated in more than 200 Hungarian and International film festivals, like Maestro (2005) as the Best animated short film at the American Filmacademy’s Oscar. His works won around 100 prizes.
In 2002, he founded KEDD Animation Studio, where he is working continuously in different kind of projects, and collaborates with the most talented professionals in order to maintain the highest standards. With his artistic DLA and a pedagogical Phd he taught at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, where later he was the professor and head of department of the animation programme. He taught at several art universities abroad, like at the London College of Art for a year. Between 2014-19 he was the rector of the University of Theater and Film Arts in Hungary, where he currently works as a professor.

Panna Balázsy

Television Journalist
Extensive, 20+ years of experience in the world of television and radio presenting, printed journalism, PR, and the international organizational sphere. Worked both in public and commercial television and radio (RTL Klub, MTV, Danubius, Juventus, Neo FM, Radio Bridge), hosted Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globes telecasts for nine years, along with prime-time award shows. Voted “Female Radio Personality of the Year” in 1995. Holds International Studies and Spanish degrees from George Mason University in Virginia, USA. Author of nine children’s books and several short stories.

Markéta Pášmová

Artistic Director of Zlín Film Festival
Markéta Pášmová graduated from the Philosophical Faculty of Masaryk University in Brno. In 1999, she began working as a program organizer at Zlín Film Festival. In 2004, she began working at Zlín Film Festival as head of the program department. Since January 2013 she has been the artistic director. She is focused on European cinema and is active in the field of educational programs for children and youth. She sits regularly in professional juries of similarly oriented festivals. She is a board member of the foundation FILMTALENT ZLÍN, which supports talented young filmmakers and she is a board member of European Children’s Film Association. Markéta Pášmová is the head film programme organizer of the festival, comprehensively covering its dramaturgical composition and line. She develops and maintains domestic and international relations in the realm of film professionals.

Ábel Visky was born Bacau, Romania. He is a director and writer, known for Romanian Sunrise (2015), Csobbanás (2011) and Semmi bogár (2016).

ECFA Jury

Felix Vanginderhuysen

General Secretary of ECFA (European Children's Film Association)
Born in 1954 and got his master degree in Social Sciences at the Louvain University in 1976. Started in 1978 at “Jekino”, a non-profit-organization for the promotion of quality films for children. In 40 years Jekino was builded into a leading association for as well distribution as film education. In 1989 founder of the “European Youth Film Festival” in Antwerp and in 2000 co-founder of “Lessons in the Dark”, a school film project in Flanders. In 2017 all these organizations (Jekino – Festival – Lessons in the Dark) merged into “JEF”, kind of a Flemish Institute for children’s film. In 1988 founder of “European Children’ Film Association” (ECFA) and since this start in function as the General Secretary of this association. In 2007 he received the Flemish Cultural Award from the Ministry of Culture.

Michael Harbauer

Director of International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL
In 1996, Michael Harbauer initiated the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience SCHLINGEL. What was originally launched as a film week with not more than twelve films, is now one of the most comprehensive platforms for international and national children’s and youth films in Europe. SCHLINGEL contributes also to an intercultural dialogue through films and increases the profile of German cinematography abroad by touring countries in and outside Europe (e.g. Russia, China, Canada, Israel, Japan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam). Besides his leading position in managing the SCHLINGEL film festival, Michael Harbauer is head of the non-profit association Saechsischer Kinder- und Jugendfilmdienst e.V., which is committed to educating children and adolescents in terms of film theory and practice. Successful SCHLINGEL films are even integrated in this educational work. By distributing some of these films, the association even paves their way onto big screens.
