Cinemira KIDS is the only film festival in Hungary dedicated exclusively to children. At this unique family event, children can discover different cultures of the world through films and try themselves out in various areas of filmmaking. These are the programs awaiting you at Cinemira KIDS:
Film Programs:
At the hourly screenings, you can watch the animated film about Frida Kahlo’s childhood, available only at Cinemira; a compilation of animal-themed short animations Capybaras and Other Creatures (recommended from age 6); or Animal Adventures, the perfect first cinema experience from age 3. Only at Cinemira KIDS you can also see Give Me a Title, Maya!, the children’s film by legendary French filmmaker Michel Gondry (director of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and was made for his daughter.
Film Show Programs:
At Cinemira KIDS you can explore different fields of filmmaking: meet professional animal trainers and film animal stars, watch a real stunt show, then try yourself out at the stunt workshop! At Dubbing Secrets, meet the Hungarian voices of Lilo, Smurfette, Loudmouth, and Natalie, and then step up to the mic yourself at the dubbing workshop! Interested in gastronomy and film? Join our Magical Film Kitchen program, where you’ll learn about the work of a film food stylist and be among the first to taste the Cinemira Cake, created by the master chefs of Sugár Shop! Want to become a film actor? Register for the Cinemira Casting and get the chance to appear in movies or TV series!
Our Motto: Watch Movies and Create!
Take part in a variety of film workshops, such as film choreography, Disco of Magical Creatures, cake decorating, Korean origami, and jewelry making from old DVDs!
No matter which Cinemira KIDS program you attend, you can also join our interactive activities: get your face painted, paint a clapboard, create your own animated film, or dress up in film costumes!
