CINEMIRA KIDS is Hungary’s only film festival specifically dedicated to children. This much-needed family event allows kids to explore different cultures through the power of film. Over two days, the children’s film celebration will screen more than forty short films.

The hourly film blocks feature short animated and live-action films for children aged 3 to 12. These entertaining and meaningful shorts address everyday topics relevant to kids’ lives, such as family, school, and environmental awareness. In addition to the short films, a feature film will also be screened: Rokus and Rosie Save the Forest, based on the internationally acclaimed TV series, will be shown as a pre-premiere and promises joyful entertainment for the entire family.

Children can also participate in a variety of workshops, including nature photography, stunt training, comic creation, music video making, dance, and filmmaking. Professional animal trainers will show how animals are taught to act in films, kids can learn casting secrets, meet the Hungarian voice actors of Inside Out, Garfield, and Wednesday, and even try dubbing themselves.

At the interactive sessions, kids can draw on 35mm film strips, enter virtual reality, take photos in front of film sets, create LEGO animations, use clapperboards, get their faces painted, try on film costumes, practice beautiful writing at a calligraphy workshop, participate in a real film casting, and even make their own LUSH bath bombs. There will be a Ringató concert for the little ones, live storytelling, and after Bea Palya’s concert, kids can even shoot a music video for the singer. The Cinemira Children’s Film Festival offers a creative experience for the entire family.
