2022 was a busy year for us, the Cinemira Children’s and Youth Film Festival celebrated its fifth birthday this year. In the summer, our joint video competition with the Hungarian Motion Picture Festival continued, in the fall we again organized the Cinemira Pitch Forum and the Cinemira TEEN Film Festival for teenagers at a new location, and during the holidays our first online film festival runs on the newly launched Cinemira STREAM interface.

Mobilbalaton 2022 Video Contest

The Magyar Mozgókép Festival and Cinemira announced a video competition for people under the age of 20 on the topics of “Balaton North Coast and South Coast”. The screening of the finalist films and the presentation of the awards took place on June 11, 2022, at the Hungarian Motion Picture Festival, in the Hangvilla in Veszprém. The competition’s jury, made up of director Kristóf Deák, dramatist Emőke Zsigmond and filmmaker Nóra Lakos, awarded 5 films and the audience also voted for their favorite.

Cinemira Pitch Fórum

On October 7, 2022, the Cinemira professional day was organized at the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts (MOME), which included two pitch forums. At the event, a jury of film professionals gave feedback to the creators, the main prizes were decided by a jury of teenagers, an audience vote was held, and special prizes were awarded by the professional jury, DIGIC PICTURES and SPARKS.

Cinemira Student Film Day

This year, more than 800 high school and high school students took part in the Cinemira Film Student Day and the First Film Higher Education Exchange at the H13 Kulturport. The Cinemira TEEN Film Festival started with the free program on November 18.

Cinemira TEEN

Thousands of students decided on the main prize of the Cinemira TEEN International Youth Film Festival. This year, the Golden Squirrel was won by Flóra Chilton’s film: I Still Remember, which revives the memories of the Second World War with a mixture of animation and live-action techniques. The work also received the Best Animated Short Film award from the professional jury. Mirkó Bősz’s LEGO animation won the competition for artists under the age of 19.
